Calming Down Your Anxiety

Fear is inevitable, I have to accept that, but I cannot allow it to paralyze me

Anxiety has got to be the most difficult thing I have to deal with when it comes to my mental health. I’m anxious a lot, and that’s quite the understatement. I fear for what may happen, or what may not happen. I get anxious about anything and everything, with my paranoia certainly not helping the situation.

It is possible to calm anxiety down however, whether it be dietary or lifestyle. I’ve found that eating healthier and getting out more so you get more vitamin D from the sun (though taking supplements will have the desired impact if you can’t get out much) helps a lot with energy levels and thus my ability to handle anxiety. The more I get out, the better and more comfortable I begin to feel and I believe this is important when it comes to managing anxiety.

Other ways I’ve found of calming anxiety down include watching funny TV shows or movies, the ability to laugh in the face of anxiety is quite a special one and this has helped the most. Having a shower and a good scrub also helps to calm me down.

Overall, what you need to do is find things that help calm you down and help to distract you from that anxious feeling in the pit of your tummy. It is possible to keep the dreaded feeling at bay and I believe in you!
